Miriam’s pots likely increase Vitamin D levels in food. How is this possible?

Just like the earth, that receives and radiates heat and light that is key to the production of Vitamin D in your body, Miriam’s pots (being made of pure earth), when placed in the sun, can absorb the invisible UVB spectrum of light from the sun. Then, when heated, these pots can radiate this into food to increase the production of pre-vitamins like D3, this in turn increases the production of Vitamin D in the body.

In my time researching and travelling, I found that this is why, from time immemorial in cultures that cooked in clay, kitchens were built facing the rising sun, or had windows facing in that direction.

I for one have reaped this benefit. Living in the northern hemisphere my vitamin D levels were lower than optimal, that was until I started the journey of healthy cooking in Miriam’s Earthen Cookware. Three-four months into eating food in our earthen pots, my vitamin D levels improved and it has stayed that way ever since! There was no other changes I made to influence these results (besides eliminating junk food that we used to consume here and there).

On a regular basis, even on colder days and winter, it is good to store your pots where they can receive direct or indirect sunlight to continue receiving this wonderful benefit!
