Cooking Grains in Primary Clay helps heal diabetes says Miriam’s Earthen Cookware

Diabetes is the pandemic of this era. While the common belief is that it cannot be cured only managed, one entity in America seems to have a completely different point of view. Miriams Earthen Cookware (a.k.a. MEC) is a company based in MA, the first in America to make cookware from pure clay – no chemicals, glazes or enamels. Before we proceed further, let’s understand the root cause of this common disease:

What Causes Diabetes?

While many foods contain varying amounts of carbohydrates, grains, beans and lentils have the highest amounts.  The two different types of carbs are simple and complex carbohydrates. A balance of both carbohydrates is essential for the optimal production and management of quality  insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas to manage the absorption of glucose from the blood into the cells.

When cooking with harsh heat from conventional metal/ceramic cookware, the more delicate, complex carbs are destroyed. This results in an overload of simple carbs in the cooked food.

Over time when the body does not get a good balance of both carbohydrates in food, the quality of insulin produced is low, which in turn affects the way our cells take in glucose, a form of sugar produced by the body as a result of the digestion of food.

When the body does not get an adequate amount of quality insulin, it is not able to help the cells take in glucose. Thus resulting in high glucose levels in the blood which is a condition know as diabetes.

Is There A Solution?

Most would say ‘no’, it is common belief that diabetes can only be managed not cured. But MEC seems to differ. Just by changing the way you cook grains, diabetes can be completely healed. And this is not just a claim but a real-life experience of the founder of MEC – Miriam Kattumuri. She managed to heal her diabetes by changing her cookware from metal to 100% primary clay, and this became her inspiration for pure clay cookware. (Read about her personal journey here)

How Is Clay Different?

The clay used by MEC is an all-natural, non-toxic material, and the cookware is made without ANY additives, what-so-ever. Thus these pots cook with far-infrared heat that keeps the delicate nutrients like complex carbohydrates intact even after the cooking process. This balanced proportion of nutrients slowly improves the body’s ability to produce insulin – and over the course of a few months, she went from having to inject herself with insulin twice a month to ideal blood glucose levels of 90-100 at fasting and 130-145 after meals!

The only other variable she changed in addition to changing her cookware was the portion size of the food. She served herself slightly lesser quantities of high carb foods like grains, beans and lentils.

Also, because complex carbs take longer to break down into energy, your levels of energy are higher and well sustained for long periods of time.

Miriams Earthen Cookware – Your Home For Pure Clay Cookware

Miriams Earthen Cookware makes pots and pans from pure clay with no chemicals, glazes and enamels. They source raw material from unfarmed and non-industrialized lands in the US to make sure it is free from chemical contaminants. You can test the purity of their raw material (or any other cookware) by a simple home test – the alkaline baking soda test.

Switch to pure clay and say ‘goodbye’ to diabetes forever!
