Healthy, Wholesome & Easy Wheat Croissants

Croissants are a delicious and moist layered bread, wonderful for any meal, day or night. Made healthier using wholesome ingredients on Miriam’s 100% non-toxic clay griddle, we have tested a recipe and would like to share it with you. This is a keeper recipe popular with groups large and small.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups whole-wheat pastry flour
- 1/2 – 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 ½ tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 1/4 cups butter at room temperature.
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
Directions:
- Add flour, sprinkle baking soda, add salt, mix these dry ingredients together thoroughly.
- Then add the sugar, eggs, and slowly add water, a little bit at a time as you knead the flour with the water.
- Once flour is kneaded add in the butter to the flour, and knead it in.
- Set the well kneaded flour in the refrigerator for 20-30 min.
- Then take it out and roll it out into a circle to about 1/4 in inch thickness.
- Then using a pizza cutter or knife, cut the circle diagonally like pizza slices.
- Taking one slice of cut dough and starting on the thicker side, roll the dough to form the Croissant.
Oil your seasoned MEC griddle, place the rolled Croissant on the pan and bake at 350 for 20-25 mins. Turn oven off and let the griddle cool down for a few minutes.

dough is very runny. Is 2 c flour correct?

Hi Kris, Please add 1/2 cup of water, start mixing it in with the flour, then add water a little at a time — mix and form the flour into the consistency of bread dough, it might require less than the stated amount of water. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we will update the recipe.
Now to adjust the runny dough, please add some more flour, a little at a time to make it denser. Also, up the other ingredients slightly to accommodate the increase in flour used.
